My husband and I stayed at Relais Villa L'Olmo mid September. Upon arrival we were mesmerised by the beautiful scenery and views. We had seen roughly what it would like from the internet site but nothing prepares you for it when you see it with your own eyes on a beautiful evening with the sun setting behind the vineyards and olive groves.
We checked in and were pleased to have been upgraded to a 2 bed apartment. It was charming - so rustic and the views from our windows were stunning. The staff were so helpful and friendly.
It was so quiet and peaceful there. They have their own wine that you can buy for €5 which was great as well as bottled beers. The local coop supermarket had everything we needed for simple lunches and in the evening there were plenty of restaurant choices, the closest was the Cavalier (or something like that) and we really enjoyed our meals there so went twice, plus it was only 3 mins walk.
The pool area was lovely with sand and although the pool wasn't heated and so too cold to swim, it was lovely just to sit down there.
The breakfasts are simple but adequate. We used the shuttle bus to and from Florence, it was punctual, cheap and a great way to see the local area. Hiring a car would be nervewracking with all those twists and turns and fast drivers!
All in all we would highly recommend these apartments to anyone. Was just lovely and so much nicer than staying in busy Florence which was heaving with tourists.
