“An Experience I Will Never Forget!”
It is hard to believe that is has been almost a year since we visited Italy. During our tour of Italy, Florence was our first stop. After much research I decided that Relais Villa L'Olmo would be where my family would stay during our visit to Florence. The idea was to get a good feel for Florence but stay in the Tuscan Hills and get that experience at the same time. Where do I start? I have so many awesome things to say about this establishment. 1) The customer service was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough about the kindness and the willingness to help from Eleonora and Serena. Even before we arrived, they were willing to answer any questions or concerns. They arranged private transportation for my family from the airport to their establishment a month before we arrived (Highly recommend this!), recommended places to eat, made reservations for museums, they were at our disposal. The grounds staff ( I wish I could remember their names. A husband and wife) were so kind and helpful. They educated us on the bus system and even went and purchased our tickets for us. What a great help! They were always thinking about our needs. Even after hours, we ran into them and they asked us how things were going and if we needed any help. The first morning we went to breakfast in the "Breakfast Room", the owner introduced himself and went and got a beautiful gift for each or our daughters. Oh there is more! The evening before we left we had been out all day trying to see anything and everything before we headed to Rome. We were exhausted! At our surprise, they had left gift bags and t-shirts for our girls and something for us. We were blown away. I have been able to stay at some fine establishments (including 5 star hotels), and never have we ever experienced this type of personal customer care. Yes those establishments provide good customer service, but this gem provided PERSONAL customer care. I felt like I was leaving family when we left. 2) We rented the private villa with the private pool: Very charming, comfortable, and very clean. It was equipped with everything you would need at home away from home. The washer and dryer rack were a plus for us, considering we were staying in Italy a little over two weeks, four people, and we wanted to pack minimal. We made lunch a couple days and lounged around at the pool. What a nice way to recover from jet lag. We would have a long day sight seeing and be so excited to get back to our little villa "gem" at night. Such a nice way to end the day. Awesome Tuscan experience. I would not trade it for a 5 star hotel. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a 5 star hotel but there are some things a 5 star hotel cannot duplicate, and this is one of them! Great Value!!!!! 3) Beautiful, breathtaking views from the grounds of Relais Villa L'Olmo and the city of Impruneta. Good location. The bus stop is practically at the end of the drive entering into the establishment. Florence is about a 30 minute bus ride into Florence, depending on traffic. Beautiful scenic ride into Florence. Easy walk to the Impruneta city center and local grocery store. The grocery store was a blast with all the fresh fruit, meat, and cheese. I still miss the blood oranges. Relais Villa L'Olmo, thank you for the wonderful memories and Lord willing we will be back soon. Eleonora, Serena, and staff, I would like to thank you again for the amazing experience you gave our family. We frequently talk about our memories made there and we have friends that are looking to stay with you in the future. Blessings, Karin
