The Relais has been our choice of accommodation in Tuscany for seven stays over a period of several years. It offers flexible stays (similar types of accommodation offer stays by the week only) and also has a variety of accommodation types from apartments for couples to houses for larger parties. It is immaculately maintained and represents excellent value. The staff are extremely helpful, cheerful and friendly. The fact that the owners live on the property ensures that high standards are maintained. At the same time the privacy of guests is respected to the utmost. From here, Florence is a 25 minute ride on an air-conditioned bus at a cost of less than €2. It is a very attractive option to enduring the challenge of driving in the city then paying the very high parking rates. After a summer day in Florence, what a pleasure to return to the pool and the peacefulness of Villa l'Olmo. The location is a 2 minute walk from Impruneta which has a selection of restaurants and a food Co-op. From here, day trips into Chianti and beyond are a breeze. I would unequivocally recommend it to anyone considering a visit to Florence or the area.

Relais Villa L'Olmo was a wonderful find in the hills outside of Florence. We chose this site because we could walk to the typical Tuscan town for small town life yet could also walk to the bus and go into Florence (30 minute ride)(about 3 Euro). The farm is lovely! The owners are kind and live on the property. They also have a luxury hotel in Florence, and as such, run the relais in a similar manner, providing maid service in our apartment and thick, soft bath and beach towels refreshed regularly. Eleanora, their reception helper, could not have been more delightful, and also willing to provide us with whatever we needed, from stamps, to bus tickets, to drinks!
Our apartment was perfect for our family of five. The accommodations were much nicer than I expected. We really enjoyed the barbeque area and met lots of people there. It overlooks the pool and olive groves. Next time we would ask for a villa on that side of the building, but also loved our villa with a flower-filled courtyard view. The pool was clean and warm even in June. My daughter developed an ear infection and the owner got us an appointment with her personal physician within an hour and provided an escort so we could easily find the office on a side street in the town.
We really liked little Impruneta. Our goal was to find a typical and not tourist area-- and we found it! English was not as oft spoken there, but the kindness and helpfulness made up for it. At the Relais they all speak English. We could walk everywhere except to the terra cotta factories (amazing!!!!).

I simply cannot express in words how perfect this place was! But I'll try... :)
We were a group of two couples looking for a relaxing place to stay in Tuscany for two nights. We're all in our mid 20s and from Texas so I'd say our expectations may have been a little higher than they should have. From the moment we arrived by bus from Florence we really thought we were in Heaven. Tuscany itself is a truly beautiful place but this Villa made it perfect!
It sits on top of a hill overlooking vinyards and olive farms and the sunsets from it are the best i've ever seen. Elanora, the lady we emailed back and forth beforehand and works at the front desk, was by far the best person I've ever dealt with at a hotel. She spoke perfect English and was on top of everything making sure we had any additional ameneties like hair dryers and wine glasses.
She also completely setup a private wine tour for us, half day, with Marcello and for ANYONE intersted in doing a tour of Tuscany, he's the person to see. He was so informative, has lived all over the world and speaks fluently in at least 4-6 languages. We really wish we would have done the full day tour with him!
We had a small accident right before the wine tour was to start where one of our boys, my boyfriend of course, fell off of the bicycle. We thought he needed stitches and Elanora immediately called Marcello and explained the situation. Not only did he insist on taking us to the hospital, he stayed with my boyfriend the entire hour being a translator between us and the dr. He was genuinely kind and wasn't hassling us to leave. We luckily didn't have to have stitches and were able to continue with the tour. Marcello was so accommodating and so informative! We could not have asked for a better person in our situation.
The Villa itself was so well maintained and the rooms were large and bright. Any room you get comes with a view so no worries there. The staff keeps the grounds very clean and are extremely friendly as well. I also highly recommend the Villa's red wine. For 8 euro you get some of the best red wine ever!
Overall we were beyond pleased as this far surpassed our expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to say this is a 4 star hotel between the graciousness of the staff and cleaniness of the Villas. We are looking forward to returning to Relais Villa L'Omo, sans bikes of course. :)
